Description: Some things are difficult to recount so we reimagine them differently to how they actually happened. If you’ve seen Olivia Colman’s new drama Landscapers on @skyTV, you’ll know exactly what I mean. Inspired by a real crime, it uses clever techniques like black and white, dead pan narrative and breaking down the fourth wall, to show there can be many different versions of one event. It’s incredibly creative storytelling and I wanted to try producing something born out of the same place. You’ll see I use a cold emotionless style to contrast the shots of intimacy and warmth because Landscapers isn’t just a crime drama, it’s also a very complex love story..
